⚖️ Moscow Resident Solim Kamina Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison for VKontakte Comments and Publishing Surrender Contacts

In the Basmanny District Court of Moscow, the verdict was announced for 36-year-old Moscow resident Solim Kamina. He was found guilty under articles on military “fakes” and public calls for activities against the security of the state – the grounds were his posts and comments on VKontakte in the spring of 2023. The prosecutor requested 9.5 years of imprisonment for Solim. The court sentenced him to 8 years in a general regime penal colony and a ban on administering websites for a term of 4.5 years. According to the investigation, Kamina posted about the Russian strike on an apartment building in Uman, Cherkasy region, as well as his harsh comments in a dispute with another user – this was qualified as spreading “fakes” about the army. Another episode was the publication of contacts for Russian soldiers wishing to surrender. This post was qualified as a threat to the security of the state. The case file also includes an emotional comment by Kamina, where he spoke sharply about Russia, Moscow, the authorities, and expressed a desire to fight on the side of Ukraine. The court used this fragment as evidence of “illegal intentions”. One of the comments in the case file is presented as follows: “You know, if I didn’t live in this *censored expletive* Russia, in this *censored expletive* Moscow, with this *censored expletive* Russian passport, my strong black *censored expletive* would have long been packed in camouflage pants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine! YES, I *censored expletive* DREAM of going to Ukraine, taking a machine gun in my hands and, together with Ukrainian soldiers, *censored expletive* shoot at rashist pig-dogs right from the hip, right from the heart.” Testimony against Kamina was given by two students of the “Information Technology Security in Law Enforcement” program at RTU MIREA. One stated that he saw “false data” in VK recommendations and forwarded it to a chat of classmates. The other said that they were “told to appear” in court during their internship at Center “E” and answered the court with the phrases “yes sir” and “no sir”. According to lawyer Vladimir Vasilenko, their testimonies were “identical word for word”. Solim Kamina did not admit guilt. In October, Solim was added to Rosfinmonitoring’s list of terrorists and extremists.
